Gilly Gobinet is one of the Caribbeans most dedicated
artists. And we are particularly proud to exhibit her delicate water color paintings in
our spring and summer exhibition.
Originally from England, Gilly lived in France before settling in Antigua in1984. It is
Antigua, she says, that gave her the opportunity to fulfill her life-long dream of
becoming an artist.
Gilly has gained widespread international recognition for her work and won several awards
for her paintings including the prestigious Antiguan Art Societys Annual Awards and
the Supreme Award for Excellence in the Islands Arts Quest Competition. There have been
also highly successful one-man shows in Caracas, Venezuela, Anguilla, St. Lucia, Antigua
and group shows in Guadeloupe, Anguilla and Santo Domingo. She also puts on a very
sucessful annual exhibition at the Venezuelan Institute for Culture in Antigua.
The subjects of her paintings are typically Caribbean, ranging from small gingerbread
houses, lush tropical forests, beautiful floral abstracts and colorful marine life.
Gillys paintings have found homes all over the world in private houses, embassies,
executive offices and have been commissioned to decorate rooms in exclusive resorts and
banks.
The paintings featured by Gallery Hibiscus have been carefully selected to beautify your
home and to enlighten the mood and spirit of its inhabitants.
Indulge your mind and pamper yourself with a painting by famous artist Gilly Gobinet, the
